The National Trust and Film Studio Canal approached Mai to design and build an adventure playground at the Far End of Bodnant Gardens, North Wales. This living willow structure was a legacy project after the filming of  The Secret Garden with Colin Firth, at Bodnant. The team wanted to encourage free and natural play.

The design was based on the shapes of two entwining earthworms’ bodies. After all, earth worms  are the true ‘Secret Gardeners’.
