As lead artist Mai was asked to support Ellesmere College with their Artsmark platinum application. They were keen to develop an active and sustainable community arts programme to engage with local primary school children in the local area, their teachers and families. She developed a consultation programme and series of workshops in response to the interests and needs of each collaborating school. The ‘Young Artists’ celebratory exhibition of the children’s work took place at Ellesmere College alongside a larger open call exhibition of national artists. This resulted in them gaining the Platinum award and establishing sustainable links with the local community.
