THE OPEN SPACE PROJECT
The two-year Open Space Project at Oriel Davies, Newtown included workshops and installations based around imagined domestic settings such as The Kitchen and The Drawing Room. Mai was selected to work with various educational settings as part of programme.
In the Drawing Room, primary children used paper and card construction to create life size objects as part of the installation.
In The Kitchen, Mai compiled a kitchen themed workshop programme to support early years children and staff to develop creative play within children’s centres and the gallery. It was the first time the children and some of the staff and parents had visited the gallery and the aim was to build lasting relationships.
